Official Non-Bathing Zones
The Environmental Health Directorate recommends that swimming is not practiced in closed harbour areas. Furthermore, it is recommended the below mentioned areas, bathing is not carried out and are to be considered as non-bathing sites. Signs are fixed to indicated that the area is a non-bathing zone.
MARSASCALA
From jetty at iz-Zonqor Street towards ix-Xatt street till Salini street opposite Vajrita street
MARSAXLOKK
All along the coast at the Power House Street. And from Wilga Street going to Xatt is-Sajjieda till the break water corner with Tat-Trunciera Street.
BIRZEBBUGIA
From opposite Knight Period Battery at Birzebbuga street toward St George’s Park along Dawret il-Qalb Mqaddsa till the break water.
BAHAR IC-CAGHAQ
Along the coastline street from St Mark’s Tower till Torri tal-Ghallis.
ST. JULIAN’S
From Spinola jetty till St George’ s road towards George Borg Oliver street ending opposite the Spinola jetty.
XEMXIJA
From Xemxija Hill opposte Ridott street towards Xatt il-Pwales till St Paul’s Bay Harbour jetty.
