Environmental Health Risk Management

​The Environmental Health Risk Management (EHRM) within the Environmental Health Directorate is responsible for safeguarding the health and wellbeing of the public through the enforcement of legislation derived from the European Union / National legislation.

What type of Complaints can the Environmental Health Risk Management act on?

These are examples of the type of cases where the EHRM may need to act:

    • Keeping of internal and external parts of any property dirty
    • Upkeep of public facilities; playing areas, schools, swimming pools, cemeteries
    • Bathing water and service water quality
    • Illegal dumping, accumulations of refuse and stagnant water
    • Pest infestations
    • Matters related to the construction of houses and drains regulations; including seeping water
    • Cases of suspected infectious diseases and Legionella control
    • Manufacture, Presentation and Sale of Tobacco and Related Products; including smoking in public places
    • Cases of malpractice; Tattoo Clinics, Beauty Parlours, Agricultural practices

Should a complainant wish to remain anonymous, his/her anonymity will be respected, however the Directorate will then be unable to provide feedback to the complainant on any action taken. All complaints will be dealt with in the most confidential manner.
