E-Cigarette Advertising

E-cigarettes and refill containers cannot be advertised or promoted, directly or indirectly:

  • on TV or on-demand TV
  • on radio
    through internet advertising, commercial email and any other information society services
  • in certain printed publications, such as newspapers, magazines and periodicals

 

The following activities are also prohibited:

  • sponsorship of television and radio programmes that promote e-cigarettes
    product placement of e-cigarettes
  • sponsorship of cross-border activities or events (those that have an effect in two or more EEA countries) or
  • individuals that take part in cross-border activities or events

 

Information about e-cigarettes and refill containers can be supplied as long as this is carried out at the request of the consumer and given in a non-promotional manner.
