Marsalforn Bay, Gozo

This profile covers four official bathing monitoring points. These sites are located along Gozo’s northern coast forming part of Marsalforn Bay. D11 and D12 in Santa Maria Street, this area is geology susceptible to accelerated coastal erosion since most of Marsalforn’s coast is made up of Globigerina formation.  D13 in Port street is a sandy beach with small pebbles backed by a promenade which runs right around the head of the bay. The rocks along each side of the bay provide plenty of additional space for sunbathing and swimming straight into deeper water. D14 in Għar Qawqla street is surrounding by rocky coast and pebbles. The area is very popular with divers and for training purposes. A number of marine, touristic, recreational amenities, hotels and private residences surrounded the area.
