Għajn Tuffieha and Golden Bay

This profile covers four official bathing monitoring point. C 02 and C03 are located along Malta’s western coast at Mġarr which form part of Għajn Tuffieħa Bay. This sandy beach incorporates a small, cobbled area and the terrain at either side of these beach is characterized by rocky shores. Accessible from a steep stair from Għajn Tuffieħa and Ca Street, Mġarr. C04 and C05 form part of Golden Sands Bay Located along western coast of Malta adjacent to in-Naħħalija street limits of Mellieħa. This sandy beach is classified with rock shores at either side.  Golden Sands is the second largest beach in Malta and has rare and valuable sand dunes which not only replenish the beach but also act as an important habitat for endemic species.
