Blue Lagoon

This profile covers one official bathing monitoring points. D21 is located in between the islands of Comino and Cominotto, which forms part of Natura 2000. The shallow, transparent, cyan waters which characterise the Blue Lagoon area amongst the most beautiful and picturesque scenery in the Maltese Islands.  For this reason, the area attracts a large number of tourists and Maltese, especially during the summer season. Vessel operators that link the sister islands to each other daily, from fishing, yachting, recreational and diving are available. The terrestrial areas on Comino and Comintto to have conserved most of their natural context although there are still some anthropogenic influences.
