Bathing Water Profile 19:
St Paul's Bay

St Paul’s Bay Waterfront (Bognor), Bay Square & Perched Beach

This profile covers three official bathing monitoring points. These sites are located along Malta’s north eastern coast in St Paul’s Bay. C25 is at the beginning of Buġibba promenade characterised by a rocky beach with Roman Salt Pans and a breakwater. C26 can be found adjacent to Dawret il Gżejjer street. This is a rocky beach with a small sandy patch and cemented area, including a slipway. C27 is also found in Dawret il- Gżejjar street. This sand beach was a linear rocky shore with a sharp rock surface, however, in 2006 it was replenished with artificial sand. Artificial sand has been placed over approximately 2,000 square meters of rocky coast thus transforming the rocky coast into a sandy beach.  The area around these sites is surrounded by hotels, restaurants and a lido.
